Audit Internship Qualifications –

Accounting GPA must be 3.0 or higher. Students must have completed Intermediate Accounting I or II courses and must be able to work a minimum of 40 hours per week with possible travel. Internship generally ends the last week of March.

Job Description

Similar to our entry-level, full-time employees, interns are given a wide variety of diversified audit and accounting assignments under the supervision of different professionals.  Performance is based on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to meet time restraints.

  Essential Functions

• Records transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements using computer software programs.
• Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, etc.
• Performs audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
• Assists in proofing financial statements, and other documents.
• Performs other accounting, auditing and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
• Progress toward passing the Certified Public Accountant examination.
• Have general Word and Excel skills to prepare necessary work papers, memos, letters, etc.
• All other duties as assigned.
